This blog is actually written with a girl in mind.  A lady actually!  Looking for a mobile personal trainer in Ascot, she stumbled across NK Fitness.  She wanted to get back into shape and use it to address other issues going on in life.  This is not uncommon at all.  Embarking on a fitness crusade can be a great vehicle for healthy body healthy mind.  But it’s not easy.  Here leading Ascot personal trainer NK Fitness describes how to shift things in your favour.

Do not look at the top of the mountain

When it comes to discussing goals we liken it to climbing a mountain.  This is our ‘go to’ analogy.  To reach the top of the mountain is the goal.  At the foot of the climb you are no where near the top – the goal is miles away.  The goal is cool – you imagine yourself stood at the top admiring the view and your achievement.  This is what makes goal setting fun!  As a mobile personal trainer in Ascot we see many excited people at this stage.  Reaching the top of the mountain requires a switch in approach though.  Do not look at the top of the mountain.

The top of the mountain is too far away!  Walking towards it, is a slow process and it will remain a long way away for some time.  If you only focus on the end point, it will often seem overhwhelming.  At this point many people quit!  At NK Fitness we try to change a clients perspective.  We switch them towards the process.  How are we going to get to the goal?  In this example, walking – one step at a time!

Put one foot in front of the other

To successfully climb a mountain you have to put one foot in front of the other.  Look down, pay attention to foot placement, step and repeat!  It really is that simple.  No glamour and no other way to do it.  Constantly looking up at the view or the summit may make a wrong step and roll an ankle!  Reaching the goal is simple – head down – one foot in front of the other.  We haven’t forgotten the goal, but we’re not allowing it to sabbotage the process.  That’s the real bit in This Girl Can.

Bringing this back to our clients.  Yes, there’s a long way to go, but every day is a step closer.  We focus clients on taking the next step.  Every now and then we stop, and admire the view.  We remind clients of how far they’ve actually come.  Then its back to head down, place one foot in front of the other.  If you would like to benefit from our experience as leading mobile personal trainer in Ascot then please feel free to contact us here for a free consultation.
